AI & Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
AI has the potential to significantly transform society by enhancing individual and societal well-being and the common good. While offering great opportunities, AI systems also give rise to certain risks such as widening the digital divide and lead to discriminatory, unintended or not, behaviours of technology. To achieve a positive societal effect, AI systems need to be human-centric, transparent and trustworthy.
A crucial aspect ensuring diversity, non-discrimination and fairness of AI systems, including the avoidance of unfair bias, accessibility and universal design, and stakeholder participation. In this panel discussion, we want to bring you a broad picture about how public institutions, industry and academia are tackling innovation and discover areas of collaboration between these change agents.
After a brief presentation from each of our speakers (~10 minutes per speaker), there will be a discussion section where panelists will discuss questions brought up by the audience. As always, your active participation is encouraged and admired!
