Abstract

Alzheimer’s disease, the most common cause of dementia, is today a huge burden on society. This talk will provide an overview of Alzheimer’s disease research status today. What do we, and don’t we, know about the progression of the disease? What kind of diagnostic techniques are there, and what are their pros and cons? And how close are we to an efficient medication?

In recent years, the advancement in research has incorporated a more data driven direction, including advanced mathematical modeling and machine learning techniques. The focus of this talk will therefore be extended to several data driven research applications.
