Season greetings AI Lund

As the holiday season approaches, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to you all.

After last year’s restrictive situation we are so happy to have been able to meet in person during 2022. Even so there are lessons to be learned and we are therefore staying partly with digital formats that work well. Here are some highlights from the past year:

  • AI related Degree Project fairs both in Helsingborg and Lund
  • Fika-to-fika workshops on AI, Business & Future of Work and on AI in the Public Sector
  • Nordic AI Popup Live on Social Media & Democracy and on Understanding Robots
  • Active participation in European Robotics Week and in Almedalen Week
  • Regular lunch seminars and drop-ins on as diverse subjects as Roc Curve Explained to Art and AI Generated Pictures featuring researchers from the AI Lund network
  • Established a solid cooperation with AI for the People at Aalborg University
  • A website in Swedish with focus on school children and teaching staff was launched in August (ai.lu.se/sv)
  • Active part in the process of developing both Lund University Profile Area Natural and Artificial Cognition and LTH Profile Area Pillars of AI and Digitalisation, and added to that initiated working groups to focus on research collaboration and attract funding in the AI areas:
    • Technology, Society and Transformation
    • AI for Life
    • AI in the Public Sector

We are also happy that we have managed to secure funding for AI Lund activities for the next couple of years.

The variety of activities within AI Lund continues of course, starting off already in January with lunch seminars and a fika-to-fika workshop, see ai.lu.se/events.

Again, we are very grateful for your dedication, your good work and your interest in AI Lund and once again, we would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year.

PS. Here comes a Christmas poem suggested by Chat-GPT. Instructions below*.

Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the town,
The researchers at Lund University
Were hard at work, not a frown.

Their focus on AI,
A technology so bright,
They worked with dedication,
Into the late hours of the night.

But they didn't work alone,
Oh no, not at all,
They collaborated with others,
In the great hall.

From different departments,
They came to unite,
To create something fantastic,
A true Christmas delight.

And as the holiday season,
Came into full swing,
The researchers at Lund University,
Were proud of the work they bring.

For they knew that their efforts,
Would benefit all of mankind,
As they worked towards a future,
So bright and so kind.

So let us all celebrate,
This wonderful time of year,
The research and education,
On artificial intelligence, so dear.
