Using Zoom in your browser without installing the application

The default option when trying to connect to a Zoom meeting via a link is that the browser tries to open an already installed zoom application, or to install a temporary application.

If you do not want to, or are not allowed to install the application, you can often participate directly via your browser.

NOTE! Not all web browsers support zoom. Recommended by zoom is:

However, try the following steps:

  1. Click on the link to the zoom meeting
  2. When the browser wants to install the zoom application, click cancel.
  3. Then click on the link join from your browser at the bottom right.

  4. In the next window, you can hopefully enter a name and try to convince the page that you are not a robot and then join the meeting.

  5. If successful, then grant the browser permission to the camera and microphone to the extent you wish.
